Are You a New Reader of The Marketing Sage Blog?

Leah, a new subscriber, read my blog about 22 Simple, Straightforward, and Sage Marketing Suggestions for 2022 that I published a few weeks ago. Her boss Elise shared it with her, and Leah found the advice extremely helpful so she subscribed.

I’m so grateful for the kindness in her message and that Elise, a long-time reader shared my ideas. In her email, Leah ask who I write for and what were the most popular blogs from 2021 that she missed?

Leah, welcome, and thanks for connecting.

My Audience

Leah, the common thread that runs through my readers is curiosity and a passion for learning something new about topics related to marketing and branding. My writing focuses on things I observe that I’m curious to understand or share.

Writing helps me figure out what I think and what my experience tells me about a topic.

At times my blogs are provocative, but often I see my role as a curator, sharing the fascinating, remarkable, and helpful things I’m learning on my journey. Often, I learn about a business or new business model that piques my interest and I’m thrilled to spread the idea.

Some posts are personal, like telling the story of sitting in my father’s home office and feeling his presence, even though he passed away 11 years ago. Occasionally, a guest blogger will share information on marketing-related topics I’d like to learn about when they have expertise.

I always strive to teach, mentor, or share that sparks excitement or touches me deeply.

My readers are a range of people from students, marketers in junior roles to CMOs at some large billion-dollar companies. Some subscribers own small businesses, sales folks, academics, and generally curious folks.

I write blogs to help me think about my point of view on a subject or share experiences or things I recently learned. Some subscribers are people I have met through work but most are people who, like Leah and Elise who found my blog by having it shared from a friend or colleague.

I started my blog to become a better writer and share remarkable things I observe.

To sum it up, people who read my blog are lifelong learners looking for imaginative, entertaining, and insightful lessons or observations from treasures I uncover.

The common thread that runs subscribers to The Marketing Sage Blog is a curious mind.

Leah also asked if I would share links to seven of the most read and popular blogs over the last year. See my list below. These are the most read and shared blogs from last year.
