What if instead of buying a plastic bottle of soap, dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent, you got a refill delivered to your front door? And what if that product was made without harsh chemicals but was still effective at cleaning?
Say hello to cleancult. They want you to clean up your addiction to plastic by becoming a subscriber.
In this short 3-minute video, you’ll get a great tutorial to help you understand how to effectively market with a strong point of difference.
Ryan Lupberger & Zachary Bedrosian are the marketing geniuses behind this venture. Their messaging is highly effective and worthy of studying what they do right. A strong value proposition, engaging storytelling and a human approach to marketing their brand.
This brand is human, funny and solves a problem.
Instead of bringing more and more plastic bottles into our home, why not just refill the bottle you have? By shipping milk cartons with soap and cleaning agents, they eliminate the waste associated with cleaning. Their focus on refills homes in on a serious problem with our endless addiction to more plastic waste.
Marketing Done Right
I don’t know the owners of this business, and they aren’t paying me to write about them. I’m featuring them because there is a lesson to be learned for me and readers of The Marketing Sage blog.
What I love is that they have a business model that is different, compelling and bundled into a fun and engaging story. The video is amusing and quickly explains what they do that is different. Their brand doesn’t take anything too seriously except solving a problem of plastic addiction and convincing the viewer that you can clean without the chemicals.
I don’t ever want to stop learning how to become a better marketer. When I find someone doing a great job of marketing their business, I like to shine a light on their work.
Studying businesses that grab you and make you want to change your habits can help you become a better marketer. I’m going to subscribe to their cleaning products to see if I can reduce my plastic bottle addiction and if I can learn something from a couple of goofy guys who are cleaning up.
