When people think about content marketing, they often think of it to get more leads and customers. But the truth is that there are many ways in which content can help your website. Content doesn’t always have to be for lead generation; it could also increase conversion rates or even boost your brand awareness. The key is knowing how to use it properly and when, and what type will work best for you.

This article talks about five different ways that content can improve engagement on your website: video, live blog posts, infographics, articles with visuals, and contests/promotions.

Creating Video Contents

It is essential that if you’re creating content for your website, you consider the use of videos. Many think videos to be one of the most engaging forms of content on your site because they help give a face to the name. If you have a company blog, consider adding a video of your CEO talking about your business to it. You can also create how-to videos, which will teach your viewers and help them better understand how your product works. Maintaining a popular video page with related videos is also a good idea as it will give visitors an excuse to revisit your website all the time. Video helps improve engagement and drives traffic back to your website, which improves rankings with search engines and SEO traffic.

 Doing Live Blog Posts

Sometimes called “live blogging” or “real-time blogging,” live blog posts are just what they sound like: real-time blog posts that you publish as an event is happening. Live blog posts are beneficial because they give your website real-time content. It isn’t often that you find a site that has new, relevant information every day or every hour, which is why live blogs are great. Live blog posts also work well for companies that would like to increase their social media presence as it makes it easy to push out the link on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms.

Creating Infographics

Infographics are great tools for engaging your audience with content because they typically combine multiple images with text and data. People love infographics because they’re not only helpful but they tell an interesting story. The reason people want to share infographics because they make complex tasks easier to understand, especially when dealing with data presented in pie charts or bar graphs. The best part about infographics is that they’re shareable across social media networks, so they help boost brand awareness quickly.

Creating Articles with Visuals

Sometimes, when blogging about a topic, you want to keep the information at a high level and not get too deep into the details. Articles with visuals are a great way to do this because they provide readers with engaging images and graphs to fill in the gaps where details are lacking.

For example, if you’re discussing different marketing strategies on your blog, consider providing visuals that show what they’d look like in real life. For each strategy, provide an image of:

– The room in which they would be implemented;

– The steps needed to carry out the strategy; or

– What the result of the strategy looks like.

This will make it easier for your readers to understand and retain what you’re saying.

Hosting Contests or Promotions

One way to do this is by hosting contests or giveaways. A popular game involves publishing an article related to the contest’s topic and asking users to fill out a form to enter. You can then pick one winner at random, who will receive the prize, which could be something like a free lunch with the CEO, gift certificates, or even merchandise from your business.

Be sure not to conduct contests too often, though, as they tend to reduce effectiveness over time. Hosting promotions or contests once every few months is usually best so that customers don’t feel like you’re only conducting contests to get new customers. Be sure that all of your contests and promotions follow laws and regulations of where your business is located.

Conclusion

When you want to increase engagement on your website, you must engage all of your senses with content. Any method works as long as you can engage your audience and get them to interact with your brand. Always remember to know your audience and keep your content relevant to them.
