If your business has competitors who make products just like everyone else, how will anyone notice you? What’s makes your products different? What story can people tell about your “hot dog” versus everyone else? Imagine round hot dogs.
Consider the conversations and word of mouth marketing that would take place if someone started a hot dog and hamburger company called OPPOSITES.
- They shaped their hot dogs into patties (like hamburgers).
- Their hamburgers are formed in tube shape (like hot dogs).
If they taste good, people will talk about them and spread the word because of the difference.
Exceptions, Not Rules
You notice the exception, not the rule.
What kind of hot dogs, wine, shoes, or apples do you sell? Do they look like everybody else? Are you selling round hot dogs?
Learn about Tony Luke Jr., who decided that when he ran out of hot dog rolls, he needed to create a round hot dog. Based in Philly, he is marketing The Original Round Hot Dog through QVC.
