A sage life philosophy is thanks giving.
It is a way of being in the world where you appreciate all the grace and bounty in your life.
To practice thanks giving, try to help someone each day who could use some assistance. Sometimes, thanks giving involves extending a virtual high five. Often thanks giving is seeing someone and acknowledging their presence in your life.
Even small, ten minute gestures like the opportunity to do micro volunteering and help the blind through www.bemyeyes.com can make a meaningful difference to one person.
My grandfather George used to ask me, who did you help today? His question echoes in my heart every day.
When you are at your Thanksgiving table this year, try being silent for a few minutes to acknowledge all your blessings. Practice thanks giving.
Then on Friday, and everyday forward repeat by sitting silently before you start your day and acknowledging all the grace and goodness in your life.
Then, go become a thanks giver.
I have so much to be thankful for – from my 93 year-old mom Bea who reminds me to write thank you notes to our almost 2 year-old spectacular grandson, Bodhi Kai who loves to cut the grass everyday.
I’m so blessed to have in my life my loving wife Ra El (43 years) and beloved daughters Sarah and Fanny, sons-in-law, siblings, nieces and nephews – and great ones too.
And some special friends like Mike, Lars, Danny, Tom and Britt – to name a few.
My cup runneth over.
And to you, my readers – thank you for being connected with, me through this blog. I am so appreciative that you take a few moments three times each week to connect with me through my words.
Will you practice sage thanks giving today and tomorrow?
