What happens when you attach a moving and emotional story to an object like a piece of jewelry. It takes on a new meaning as you market those bracelets. What Sarah learned listening to Grandma Jewel and used as a marketing catalyst through stunning storytelling.

This story about Sarah is fictional. I created the video to illustrate the role and power of storytelling. I used Animoto, some simple software that enables storytelling for marketers.

But below are three real campaigns from P&G, Dove, and Airbnb illustrating this idea of stunning storytelling.

This 2016 version of P&G’s “Thank you Mom” campaign features supportive mothers helping their children persevere through difficult circumstances on their way to becoming successful Olympic athletes.

With their Men+Care campaigns, Dove features real men and uncovers their ability to care and the strength that comes with it. Dove has done an excellent job and beautifully narrates the story of a real dad that shows his caring side and how taking care of his family makes him feel strong

With an animated film, Airbnb uses a profound true story to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Airbnb’s “Wall and Chain” campaign revolves around a West German border guard who leaves the city before the fall of the Berlin Wall. A story of hospitality and the human spirit.
