I am not a fanboy of Jobs. But listening to Jobs on marketing is worth its weight in golden apples. From his personal life to stories of how he treated colleagues, that part of his legacy is of little interest to me.
But Steve Jobs on marketing is stunningly brilliant.
I have always admired his laser focus on product, messaging, and marketing. No one ever said it better than Jobs. His clear and precise explanation about marketing is worth relistening to from this speech given on August 3, 1997. The speech was 8 weeks after returning back to Apple.
From product line simplification to thinking differently about messaging, if you are interested in marketing, this is worth 14 minutes of your time.
